Signs Along the Writing Road
Have you ever come upon an accident that has snarled traffic? Cars slow down as people rubberneck, trying to see what happened.
A police officer uses hand signals to tell drivers to stop, slow down, or move forward. This is not the time to loiter and try to see what is going on.
I don’t have time to loiter in my writing life. I keep moving forward no matter what is going on around me. I am called by God to persevere in my passion. I am determined to obey the helpful “policemen” when they direct me to move forward. There are a lot of them: writing friends, agents, publishers, editors, mentors. I take all their advice to heart, realizing they all want me to be successful.
