Signs Along the Writing Road

share the road

My writing is done all alone with my rear in chair, hands on keyboard and silence. It can be a lonely place.

But it doesn't have to be.

I meet with Beth every week to critique our writing projects. It doesn't matter how many edits I do, Beth always finds a way to say it tighter or stronger--including this piece. She also finds missing or misspelled words. I wouldn't be where I am today on the writing road without her honest critique and encouragement.

Sharing the road has many benefits. You develop confidence as you learn to accept constructive feedback. You recognize your bad habits you just love repeating. You benefit from two or more minds brainstorming together. And—with hard work—you will eventually get published .

Are you sharing the road with a fellow writer? If not, try it. Soon you'll find you are passing mile marker after mile marker. You’ll see progress. And best of all, you'll gain new friends.
